Obituary

CRAIG, Charles Winslow Craig, Jr., age 72, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 2, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Charlie was born Tuesday, February 2, 1942 in Plymouth, MA. He was the son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Doris (Proctor) Craig. He is a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1960. Upon graduation, Charlie joined the United States Air Force stationed at Grand Forks Air Base – Grand Forks, North Dakota, serving during the Viet-Nam era. He worked as a mechanic, working alongside his brother, Steve at Kingston Sunoco. Later, he worked until retirement in 2001 at Tidmash Farms in Manomet. Charlie was Past Commander of the American Legion Kingston, Harold F. Govoni Post 387, and former member of the Hilltop Athletic Club Kingston and John Alden Sportsman Club Manomet. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, treasure hunting with his metal detector, always seen with his loyal German Shepherd, Keesa at his side, and in later years, just sitting on the deck watching the hummingbirds. Charlie was married to the former Roxanne Santos of Kingston for 43 loving years. In addition to his wife, Roxie, he also leaves behind his son Charles (Chuck) W. Craig III and Nicole Gearty of Marshfield. He also leaves behind his brothers, Stephen and his wife, Brenda, Kenneth and his wife, Nancy and his brother in law, Al Gagne, all of Florida, as well as his sister in law, Deri-Ann (Dee) Santos of Kingston. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth (Craig) Gagne. Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. Services will be private.
