Claire Valerie (Daly) Granville, 77, passed away peacefully at home in Dighton, MA, after a short battle with cancer. Claire was born in Boston, MA, and was the daughter of the late Charles W Daly, Sr., and Hazel (Duby) Daly.
Claire graduated from North Quincy High School and went onto to study art and interior design at Santa Monica City College. She briefly owned her own antique store, Granville Antiques, and then became an antique and doll appraiser. She even started her own doll club; Devotees of Little Legends. Claire loved to read classic literature and poems, travel, cook, play Scrabble, listen to classical music, attend doll shows, museums and flea markets. She was an amazing decorator with a keen eye for discovering rare art and precious antiques. She also read tarot cards for her family and friends. Above all else, Claire loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was the most kind and beautiful person and the best mom anyone could ask for.
Claire was a loving mother of Pamela J Engel and her husband, Robert, and Michael D Granville, and Robin. She was grandmother to Robert M Engel and Jordan, Shane M Haviland, Courtney A Holland, and the late Timothy P Engel. Great grandmother to Timothy C Engel and baby Engel. She is the dear sister of Gordon J Fabian, and Frank Daly, as well as the late Charles, Eugene, Norman, Stephen, Walter, and Robert Daly, Lucy Lee, Dorothy Mitchell, and Geraldine Daly. Claire is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 17th, from 3:00-5:00 pm. Friends are welcome to attend.
