Clara Elizabeth Porter, age 99, peacefully passed in her home with her beloved daughter Mary by her side on December 3, 2025.

God's Angels surrounded and protected her on the journey to Heaven. There she will be lovingly embraced by her family and friends.

She was the wife of late husband Paul E. Porter (Boston Fire Department ) (WW II Recipient of Silver Star)

Clara was the proud mother of three children: Paul of Venice FL and his late wife Nancy, David and his wife Jean of Boliva NC and Mary of Yarmouthport, MA. She was the grandmother of Christopher, David, Laura, Annmarie and William, and the great-grandmother of James, Steven, Aerowyn, Brian, Elizabeth, Claire, Owen, Reagan and William.

Clara was born in Boston and spent her childhood and married life in Jamaica Plain MA.

Many happy and exciting years were spent at Boston College in the Geology Department. She traveled all over the world. Some highlights include being one of the first Americans to be on the site of an active volcano in Iceland, seeking out new rock formations, exploring mines and quarry sites for new minerals, and going on field trips with the students where she got to sleep under the stars in a tent. The students lovingly gave her the nickname of "Mother Superior". She was an avid BC sports fan, especially hockey, attending many of their home games.

Her retirement years were spent enjoying summers on Cape Cod MA and winters on Fort Myers Beach FL. She would sit in her favorite chair overlooking the beach reading a good book or solving word puzzles.

Clara was a sweet, gentle soul, overcoming many life challenges with dignity, grace and kindness.

She will be missed beyond words.

Her spirit will eternally remain.

For He will give his Angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
