Obituary

Conor Ryan O'Rourke, born on August 30, 1992 in Plymouth, MA, passed away on

January 29, 2025 in Federal Heights, CO. He was the beloved son of Kevin and Brenda

O'Rourke and sister to Hillary.

Conor's legacy is characterized by his love for animals, all things sports, his passion for

travel, an affinity for comedic TV, particularly The Office and Friends, and most notably, his

profound dedication to his friends and family. Conor was, at his core, the most unyieldingly kind

person that one could be lucky enough to encounter. He was effortlessly warm and welcoming,

carried a breezy and quick-witted sense of humor that disarmed even the most serious of

acquaintances, and spread his charismatic optimism around with fervent generosity. He

repeatedly lent his time, energy, and resources to anyone he knew that was in need.

Conor's friendship was easily earned from all who encountered him just by reciprocating

his intoxicating kindness; Conor always made you feel like you mattered. He would not rest

until those around him had a smile on their face or a laugh echoing in his direction. This rang

especially true when it came to his tight knit group of friends that blossomed from his little

league days. Their bond has only grown in strength with each passing year and they knew

Conor better than most. They spent their days making the trek to Boston to watch the Sox,

swimming in the pool, or just hanging out and goofing off. Outside of his childhood friends,

Conor's impact extended to new friends he made along the way, coworkers, neighbors, and

strangers alike; to meet Conor was to feel as though you'd known him for a lifetime, Conor was,

above all else, fiercely loyal to those he cared about, particularly to his very best friend, his Dad

Kevin, his biggest fan and support, his Mom Brenda, and his revered sister and the hero in his

life, his sister Hillary.

Conor's deeply loyal and unconditional love for his family and friends was rivaled by few,

but of those few, his cat reigned supreme. Kumar O'Rourke, Conor's beloved eldest cat, was his

self-proclaimed best friend, and the two shared a special connection. Kumar stayed by Conor's

side through countless happy memories, as well as supported him through his tough times,

making the most mundane of days bright and filled with purpose. Kumar was joined recently by

his vivacious younger sister Ziva in 2023, a kitten Conor discovered on his travels and selflessly

rescued from the streets of Colorado. She completed their family of 3 with ease. They were his

world and no doubt his love for them carries on, as does theirs for him.

Aside from his cats, the other love of Conor's life is housed on Yawkey Way; the Boston

Red Sox. Calling him a fan of baseball would be an egregious understatement; Conor lived and

breathed it. One step inside his cottage in Manomet or his apartment in Colorado and you would

find yourself immersed in a carefully crafted museum of all things Fenway Park, primarily gifted

to him by those who knew his deep adoration for the franchise. He commemorated this

adoration with frequent visits to Fenway with his closest friends and family. Conor would

religiously leave his legacy behind by signing his name on Pesky Pole near the seats he

cherished sitting in. He will be remembered for the dedicated fan, loving son and brother,

extraordinary friend, and devoted father to his four-legged children that he was.

A wake will be held in his honor on February 22, 2025 at Bartlett Funeral Home from

11am to 1pm. Boston Red Sox attire is requested.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Active Minds (a non-profit supported by the

Boston Red Sox) or SaveADog.org.
