Dana E. Pettersen beloved husband of Helen (Barone) Pettersen passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on Saturday, January 20, 2024; and did not go out without a fight! Dana was born in Hackensack, NJ to the late Raymond and the late Jane (Mayer) Pettersen and raised in Celina, Ohio. An avid fisherman since his youth, he was also a hardworking man and a soldier. He proudly served in the US Army, in Weiden, Germany prior to being honorably discharged in 1988.

Arriving in Massachusetts, he became a supervisor of asbestos removal, window restoration/installation and construction supervisor. Dana was an adventurer of freedom and motorcycle enthusiast, former member of South Shore HOG and current elite of the Old Fart Riders of Massachusetts. He worked at MGC Fishing in Hanover. He had a great passion for finding fish, fishing for striped bass at the canal or any other fish in any pool of water, and most of all, catching fish. Recently switching from the shoreline to the kayak.

Dana's legacy shall live on through his daughter, Stephanie (Stevie) Pettersen and granddaughter, Liliana Silva of Pembroke, MA; his daughter, Nicole (Carbone) Proctor and her husband Matthew Proctor, grandson, Nathan Proctor and granddaughter Nora Proctor of Plymouth, MA; his niece Tracy Owens and her husband Steve, nephew Glenn Robertson, and great nephews, Cody Robertson, Chase Owens and Ryann Robertson all of Celina OH. He was predeceased by his sister, Marget Menchofer and brother, Robert Pettersen and nephew, Jason Robertson.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26th, from 9:45-12:45. Interment will follow at MA National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Dana's memory. May he rest in peace, knowing that his memory lives on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
