Obituary

Daniel A. Despres, 68, of Tewksbury died peacefully on July 12, 2022
surrounded by family after a courageous year-long battle with kidney cancer. He
is predeceased by his parents, Adelard and Valencia Despres of Canton,
Connecticut.

Daniel, lovingly called Dan by family and friends, grew up in West Hartford,
Connecticut. Growing up Dan made many lifelong friends who shared his love of
sports. He was a faithful Yankees and Giants fan. In high school Dan excelled at
playing the saxophone and was a member of the Hall High Jazz Band. After
graduation Dan attended college at the Lowell Technological Institute, where he
met his wife Beth. After marrying, Dan and Beth settled into Tewksbury, MA
where they built a beautiful life together.

In his professional life, Dan worked for a variety of industries including plastics,
wire and cable, and telecommunications. Dan was a dedicated employee of
AT&T for fifteen years before retiring in 2020. Aside from being a hard worker,
Dan had many hobbies. He enjoyed theater, travel, cooking, and sports. His
favorite hobby was putting on elaborate celebrations and parties for his family.
This was never truer than at Christmas, when Dan turned his home into a winter
wonderland. He loved making the holidays extra special for his nieces and
nephews with his over the top decorations and special gifts. The yearly
Christmas tree was a sight to behold, and a source of great pride for Dan.

Dan leaves behind his wife, Beth, sister Elaine Moreland of Canton, CT, and
brother Roger Despres of Lowell, MA. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces
and nephews, as well as a fabulous bevy of great-nieces and great-nephews. He
will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

There will be a casual family led graveside service on Sunday, August 7th,
2022 at 11:00 am at the Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell, MA. A celebration
of life will be held for Dan at 12:00pm at Quan's Kitchen located at 871 Washington St.
Hanover, MA following the cemetery service. Hawaiian shirts are encouraged, but not required.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tewksbury Public Library.
