David Lloyd Durfee, 73 of Fairhaven, MA passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave was the son of the late Lloyd and Ellen Durfee of Somerset, MA. Married to Ann Durfee for 51 years. He was the proud father of Carey Rochford, David Durfee Jr. and Alex Durfee. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jack, Sage, Tyler & Hunter. Dave was a skilled carpenter, who enjoyed building various items in his workshop. He loved fishing, camping, sailing, listening to live music, walks in the woods and on the beach, and riding his bike. His passion was taking care of his beloved herb garden and sitting by a fire with family and friends. Dave graduated from Somerset HS in 1965. He received a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Umass Dartmouth in 1975. He was a self-employed contractor for his own business Durfee Construction and retired in 2015. In memorandum of his life, Dave's family will be holding a rowdy celebration at a future date. His infectious laugh will be missed by all.
