David L. Kanke 81, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center.

David was born in Richmond, Indiana on October 14, 1940 and was the son of the late Elmer and Lorraine (Schumann) Kanke. David was the loving husband of late Sharron (Dingley). David and Sharron raised their family in Richmond Indiana, Stonington CT, and Hingham, MA. David was a retired manager of American Water Works and was a past president of the Hingham Rotary Club. David enjoyed researching his family ancestry and sharing that information with his family and friends. David leaves behind his son Stephen and wife LeeAnn (Reggani) Kanke of Plymouth Ma, Rhea and Alan Grant of Plymouth MA and Shelley and Keith Clough of Winterport ME. He was the grandfather of Amanda Lauzon, David Kanke, Kathryn Ford, Matthew and Allison Clough, Sarah and Patrick Grant. He was also the great grandfather of four Great grandchildren Owen Kanke, Abigail and Aidyn Lauzon and Theodore Ford. David also leaves behind his brother Donald of Ohio and was the brother of late Diane Smeigh.

At Davids request there will be no public services. The family will honor David's request by celebrating his life in a private ceremony.
