David Ralph Poole, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather, loyal friend, and good neighbor, passed away on December 8, 2023. He was warm, engaging, and sociable. He found joy in visits with his family and grandchildren, long conversations with his son Scott, backyard birdwatching, watching football, and Monday morning quarterbacking with his neighbor Nick. He was proud of his son and grandchildren and was honored to walk down the aisle at his granddaughter Kristina's wedding.

Dave grew up in Worcester where he worked as a printer for many years. He influenced the lives of many boys in his ten years as a coach and league administrator for Tris Speaker Little League. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Auburn Sportsman's Club. After moving to Cape Cod in 1989, he became active in the Shawme Fish and Game Club, where he started a defensive pistol program and served as club secretary.

Dave excelled at many sports. He bowled and played horseshoes and was a member of a darts league in Worcester that advanced to a national competition. His greatest passion was for competitive target shooting. He liked to tell people that he always won the Senior Division (of which he was the only member). In recent years he competed in a weekly steel shoot at the Cape Cod Fish and Game Association club in Harwich.

Dave's first wife Marion (Taylor) Poole passed away in 2002. He met Pamela Joseph at a contra dance in Woods Hole, and they married in 2008 at the Sandwich Grange Hall with a contra dance caller. They enjoyed the natural beauty of Cape Cod, walking, biking, kayaking, binge watching television, dinners with friends and neighbors, and dancing to rock and roll music. Dave was even occasionally persuaded to go to concerts and plays.

Dave was always his own person. He will be remembered for his independent spirit, his sense of humor, and his wonderful laugh. He is survived by his wife Pamela Joseph, his son David Scott Poole and daughter-in-law Ellen Poole of Rutland, MA and grandchildren Collette Nancy Poole of Gardner, MA, Annalise Poole of Hadley, MA, and Kristina (Poole) Iacaboni of Limington, ME.
