David Malcolm Ward passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, at a rehabilitation facility in West Roxbury, surrounded by his children. He was the last surviving child born to Margaret and Malcolm Ward. The family settled in Abington, Massachusetts, where David was raised.
After graduating from high school, David proudly served in the Navy for 2 years. He then worked in the family construction business before going on to work for himself, building beautiful custom homes on Cape Cod. He later completed his career locally as a Title V Inspector.
Giving back to the community was very important to David. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club and served for many years on the board of the Housing Authority.
Above all, David found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Sara, and her husband, Douglas, of Marion, Massachusetts, and his son, Matthew, and his wife, Tara, of Old Lyme, Connecticut. David was a proud and devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren, and he cherished every opportunity to be with them.
To know Dave was to know that he enjoyed fun and celebrating, therefore, to honor who we was, we will be having a celebration of life, at the VFW of Plymouth at 22 Seven Hills Rd on Saturday January 24, 2026 from 12-3.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David’s name to the Plymouth Lions Club @ https://theplymouthlions.org
