Dennis M. Motta, age 71, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 with his family at his side. Dennis was the son of the late Angelina (Francis) and Manuel Motta. He attended Plymouth schools, graduating from Plymouth High in 1958. Dennis attended Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA and worked for many years as a Senior Electrical Designer for Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation. He also worked for several years in the Plymouth Schools prior to retiring. Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeraldine (Keough), as well as his children, Michael D., Steven R. and Kim M. He was the loving grandfather of Thomas, Lauren and Tyler Motta as well as Lindsey and Nicole Hallett. He leaves behind his sister, Lydia DiStefano of Baltimore, MD and his brother- in-law, Edmund Furtado of Plymouth, MA. He was preceded in death by his sister Arlene Furtado. Dennis also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Lovingly referred to by many as the "Mayor of the Mall" he will sadly be missed by all who knew him. Arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos funeral home. There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in North Plymouth, MA.
