IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dianne Mary
Demille
December 29, 1958 – September 28, 2024
Dianne Mary (Blanchard) DeMille of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home on September 28th, surrounded by her children.
Born in Dorchester in 1958, Dianne graduated from Cardinal Cushing HS in 1977, and began a family with her former husband Martin shortly thereafter. She worked hard for the USPS general mail facility for over 35 years. She wasn't there to make friends, but to give her children everything they could ever want. The best stories she had from work were about sneaking out for dinner in Chinatown with a few of the people she actually did like.
Anyone who knew Dianne would know she would have hated having anything written about her, as she never wanted anyone to 'make a big deal.' Even through her 13-month fight with Glioblastoma she insisted she 'was fine'. She fought like hell to give her loved ones more time and in the end, she went on her own terms, even cancer couldn't break her strong will.
An avid movie fan, Dianne amassed a collection of DVDs that rivaled any streaming service's offerings. She loved gardening and would want you all to remember to split your Hosta before the first frost. Despite being Irish, she made the best lasagna, and her chocolate chip m&m cookies were unparalleled.
Her personal mission was to snuggle and spoil every baby she could, whether they were related or not, they were all loved like family. She gave her children everything they could ever need, and her grandchildren got ANYTHING they ever wanted from their Gee.
Dianne's loss will be endured by her daughter Jacquelyn Tobin and her husband Robert, daughter Michelle, son William and his wife Shannon as well as her beloved grandchildren Aidan, Teagan, and Devlin. Her mother Barbara (Burns) Blanchard, sister Lynn Murphy and her partner Tom, brother Brian Blanchard, sister Denise Eisan and her husband Jack and her sisters-in-law Hanora Blanchard and Janet Blanchard. The memory of Auntie Di's laugh will bring comfort to her nieces and nephews for years to come. Dianne is predeceased by her father William Blanchard Jr., brother William Blanchard III Esq., and grand-dog Murphy.
A private celebration of her life will take place with her family. In lieu of flowers please consider a
donation to St. Jude's, an organization which Dianne supported generously throughout her life.
