IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Joseph
Belliveau
March 25, 1931 – January 18, 2024
Donald J. Belliveau of Bourne Ma, A Marine Corps Veteran of Korea, Coach and Teacher for Bourne High School and former Washington Redskins football player, passed away on January 18, 2024 surrounded by his wife, family and granddaughters at 92.
Born on March 25, 1931 in Waltham MA, to Joseph and Alice Belliveau. He served in Korea as a Marine Corps SGT and continued his military career as a Coast Guard Reservist. Donald attended St. Anselm College and Curry College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Donald was a proud Husband to his wife Janice and Donald was a proud father of his children Scott, David and Andree, Margaret and Michelle; and proud Papa to his six grandchildren: Alycia, Sean, Jenna, Ashley, Gianna and Joseph.
Donald (Coach Bells) Belliveau was an educator at Bourne High School as well as a Football coach and talked fondly of his years there, he remembered every student by name and face up until the day he died. Don was a passionate teacher and loved being able to make a difference in children's lives. Bourne High School was also the meeting spot of his devoted wife Janice (Flansburg) Belliveau of Bourne Ma, where the two met and were married for 40 years. Janice is still residing in Bourne Ma.
Don and Jan spent a large part of their life in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, where they went to they spent their days at the beach, pool and entertaining friends at Cedar in the wood. Don loved when his grandkids would visit and counted down the days until they did.
Donald spent his later retired years being a Papa to 6 grandchildren. He wore that title like a badge of honor and loved spending time with them any chance he could get. He taught them the rules of football, played barbie dolls endlessly and gave them life lessons they would never forget. He loved his family with all his heart and "don't ever forget that."
Don truly dedicated his life to living and loving every second he could, he would put a smile on the saddest of faces, and could tell you a story for any life lesson he wanted to portray. Until the day Donald died he continued to smile and laugh and treat each day like a gift. 92 years will never seem life enough time to honor a human with a soul like Donald, but with his guidance we will all try to live up to the impossible legacy he left behind.
