Watson, Donald Jr., 73, of Carver, passed away at the Jordan Hospital on August 11, 2018. He was the son of the late Mary A. (Faherty) and Donald J. Watson, Sr. He was born in Waltham and raised in Milton, graduating from Milton High School.
After graduating, Don joined the Navy in 1965. He was stationed in San Diego, CA on the USS Ticonderoga as an aviation electrician. When he got out of the Navy, he went to work for Mass Engineering Co from 1968-1997. From 1997-present, he worked in sales for Crown Tanks, Northeast Petroleum, Hall Trask Equipment Co.
Don enjoyed playing hockey and golf. He loved taking care of his yard. He loved the New England Patriots. He loved to travel. He loved watching his granddaughters play basketball. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 40 and the VFW Post 1822 of Plymouth. In his later years, Don could not be found without his Ipad.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years; Janet (Kingston) Watson. He also leaves behind his children; James R. Watson, Christopher M. Watson and Michelle M. and her husband, Brian Grassi. He was the adoring "grampy" of 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, whom he loved deeply. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Barber.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 388 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 16th from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 17th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes in Carver, 130 Main Street, Carver, MA. Interment will follow at MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
