Doris Wass, 99, of Kingston, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Weymouth, the daughter of the late Jennie (Sherman) and Joseph Gilligan.

Doris was raised in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School, class of 1943. After graduating, she married and had 4 children, raising them in Weymouth. She married Roger Wass and moved to Brockton, where she got a job at Brockton Hospital, eventually retiring in 1991.

Doris was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Weymouth, she loved spending time with her family, she loved walking.

Doris was the loving mother of Charlie (and Marilyn) Turnesa, of Whitman, Janet (and Dave) Thibeault of Maynard and Jo-Ann (and Louis) Stone of Middleboro. She was "Gram" to 5 grandchildren; James O'Connell, Diane O'Connell, Michelle Medeiros, Amy Turnesa and Charles Turnesa and "Great Gram" to Andrew, Spencer, Kayla, Joey, and Emma. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna O'Connell and her brother, Lawrence Gilligan.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2nd, from 11 am – 12 pm at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, next to her husband, Roger, at 12: 45 pm, Thursday, May 2nd.
