Obituary

Dr. Henry A. Lewis was born June 26, 1950. He was the youngest child, and the only son, out of 3 children. At

the age of 18 he enlisted in the Navy, and later enlisted in the Army - serving in Special Forces. In 1973, he

married his wife Patricia, with whom he shared two children – Chris & Tricia, and 6 grandchildren – Dylan,

Morgan, Caleb, Andrew, Josiah, and Belen. Though throughout his many years of ministry, Dr. Lewis became

a father to so many more by investing in the lives of each and every person who reached out to him. He was

lovingly referred to by hundreds as "Pops".

Dr. Lewis was a compassionate man of God who served the Lord with all his might. He spent many hours a

day seeking God, reading and researching the Word, and in prayer for others. His level of understanding is one

that will go unmatched, but his passion for the Word, and his legacy through his ministry, will continue on

long after his passing.

Dr. Lewis was a sought-after speaker and author. He currently has 12 books that have been published with

future publications still to come. His first publication, "A Quest for Spiritual Power" is now available in

English, Arabic, and French. He spent many years in the ministry traveling, teaching at churches &

conferences, establishing outreaches & aid to areas in need, along with making numerous television

appearances.

Through the passion and unwavering faith that he shared with his wife Patricia, they founded Joshua

International, which is an Apostolic teaching & Apologetic ministry. Joshua International equips evangelical

outreaches with the purpose and challenge to introduce people to a personal relationship with Christ. They

teach about the importance of coming into agreement with God's word and the power of the Holy Spirit, and

not to rely on the traditional practices of religion when God requires relationship from us. The goal is to

instruct people to hear and know God's voice, and carry a triumphant faith in order to overcome every situation that comes against them.

During Dr. Lewis's almost 45+ years of ministry, he taught on subjects like; The Old & New Testament from a

Hebraic point of view, the Power of transforming your mind, and Obtaining Victory over addictions, abuse and

curses. He specialized in teaching on Spiritual Warfare, Revival, Revelation, the Importance of the Holy Spirit,

Authoritative Prayer, the Identity of Christ & Who we are in Him, how to pray with the language of God and

receive results, and more.

Throughout his service in ministry, Dr. Lewis was able to travel and share the gospel around the world. He has

visited many countries like; Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Egypt, Israel, Nigeria and many more. He

was honored and grateful for every opportunity he was afforded to share the Love of Jesus with others, as God

had done great and mighty things throughout his entire life. There was no sweeter name than the name of Jesus

to Dr. Lewis, and he took every chance to offer even a complete stranger the chance to know him as their

personal Lord & Savior which he did hours before he passed. That is something that rings true as a testament

to his character, even after his passing, that he loved everyone he ever met, and no stranger stayed a stranger

for long – everyone was his friend!

Dr. Lewis leaves behind thousands of people who loved him; wife, close family, friends, ministry partners,

adopted children, etc.… Despite the weight of grief from losing such a wonderful man of God & teacher, we

are left with an even more powerful legacy. Dr. Lewis believed passionately in equipping the Saints. He made

it a point to plant seeds into everyone he ever encountered about getting into the Word, staying in the Word,

actively praying, petitioning God specifically, and offering up Thanksgiving daily. He was driven with desire

to teach people to operate in an attitude of gratitude at all times. These things that he held so dear to his heart,

are part of the legacy that will be carried on by his wife, his children and beloved spouses, family members and

his dear sister-in-law.

We are all grateful for the blessing of Dr. Lewis's life and for the enrichment he brought to ours by being a

part of it. May we all love each other and strangers as he did, but may we more importantly pursue the Lord

the way he did with such passion for His Word. May we receive a portion of his understanding that surpasses

what we already know for ourselves. May WE be a blessing to those around us, and even the ones we do not

know. May we be a friend to those in times of joy, as well as in their sorrow and times of struggle, but most

importantly, may we be a friend of God like he was for all of our days.

In continuing memory of him, you may donate online through www.halewis.org that will help in furthering the

development of book translation and publishing. Books may be ordered through Amazon
