Eric Carlson, 72, passed away suddenly on October 30 at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Eric was born in Milton, Massachusetts, graduated from Weymouth High School in 1972, and earned an accounting degree from Quincy College in 1974. He was beloved in the auto body industry as co-owner and head of sales for Montague Brown Company, where he and his brother, Ted Carlson, worked the business together from 1970 until 2019.

Eric enjoyed sharing his many hobbies with friends and family, including golf, boating, and his love of cars. He also enjoyed racquetball in his earlier years and was a talented piano player, having begun studying at the Boston Conservatory at the age of nine. Eric had a warm presence and a special way of making people feel welcome. He appreciated the simple moments in life, especially watching the Pats with friends and family.

Eric and his beloved wife, Kathy, were involved in the Duxbury Newcomers Club and Pilgrim Church and enjoyed participating in school events and fundraising throughout their lives. Eric was also active in Rotary, where he served as president, as well as the Kiwanis Club and other community organizations.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Kathy; his son, Jonathan; his son, Benjamin, and daughter-in-law, Laura; his daughter, Stephanie Rance, and son-in-law, Greig; his grandsons, Will, Sawyer, Ollie, and Reed; his sister, Diana Lawson, and brother-in-law, Jim; his brother, Ted Carlson, and sister-in-law, Eileen; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends from Kingston and Bonita Springs.

Eric was a proud husband, father, uncle, and Papa, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A wake will be held in Eric's honor on Wednesday, November 11, from 4-7 p.m. at Bartlett Funeral Home in Plymouth, Massachusetts. A memorial service will follow on Thursday, November 12, at 11 a.m., also at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
