Obituary

Ethan Mark MacKenzie, 23, of Carver MA, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2026. He was deeply loved and is sorely missed by his family, Church, and many friends.

Born in Plymouth MA, on October 11, 2002, Ethan was raised in Carver alongside his 3 siblings. He was a 2021 homeschool graduate, and went on to graduate from MTTI, class of 2022. Ethan spent his childhood with his family laughing, joking, learning, enjoying the outdoors, and serving in his Church. He excelled at playing the violin at a young age and went on to learn the guitar as well.

From the time he could walk, Ethan was drawn to anything with a loud engine and wheels, graduating from dirt bikes and quads to his beloved Mustangs and eventually to his trucks. He loved to investigate how these machines worked, often taking things apart and putting them together again. A natural handyman, he became a skilled mechanic who was constantly working to improve the machines he loved. That passion carried seamlessly from his hobbies into his career at Colonial Ford.

His creativity, ingenuity, and perseverance are fondly remembered by those who knew him. He was generous and selfless with his time, constantly giving his hours to help his friends and volunteering his service to anyone in need. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his family and friends, taking in the simple joy of being together. He recently stated that he felt closest to God in his Church, where he was baptized, faithfully attended, and served.

Carrying a gentle warmth and kindness with him throughout his life, Ethan exemplified the characteristics of a child of God as described in Col.2:12 – ‘Put on therefore, as the chosen of God, holy and beloved, a compassionate heart, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering’.

Until we meet again, Ethan will be deeply missed by his family and his friends, who take comfort knowing that he is resting with the Lord. He is survived by parents Mark MacKenzie and Niki (Botelho) MacKenzie, and four siblings: Kailey (24), Lindsay (19), Owen (17), and Cameron (1). The family invites you to commemorate Ethan’s life with them at a visitation & memorial service on Sunday, March 15th at Temple Christ Messiah, 339 Carver Rd. Plymouth MA. Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm, followed by a 4:00 pm Memorial service. A graveside committal will be conducted on Monday the 16th at 11:00 am, at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth, MA. A funeral procession will leave from Temple Christ Messiah Monday morning, promptly at 10:15 am. If you would like to follow the procession from the church to the cemetery, please arrive at the church at 10:00 for formation.

Ethan will never be forgotten, his memory lives on in the hearts of everyone he knew.
