My momma was the second oldest of ten children, predeceased by Betty and Priscilla (Cilla), survived by Donna, Sonny, Danny, Barbara (Barbie), John (Johnny), Judith (Judy), and Mark. And all the spouses, nieces, nephews, cousins, greats and many friends who became family. Anyone who was blessed to meet Etta became her baby, grandbaby, or friend; you couldn't not. She was a mom, nana, and friend to all.
There will be a funeral service Sunday December 18, 2022 from 1-3pm at Bartlett funeral home, 338 Court St in North Plymouth. She would prefer plants in lieu of flowers or yellow roses.
Mom was always our provider, she always "figured it out" as a lifelong waitress during the day and tending bar at night. She worked at the All American Diner before it was called that, and was there through a few owners and names. She ended her customer service career at Panera Bread in shops at 5 where she made some of the best friends.
Momma had a saying "My name is Etta, once ya met her ya never forget her, nobodies better than Etta!" and it was so true. She was the kindest, sweetest woman with the most beautiful soul. This was the type of woman who took care of a man at the end of his life when he was dying from cancer after some really horrible d.v. Etta was always the caregiver for others. She forgave people who weren't even sorry, now that's strength. To know Etta was to love her! She enjoyed channel 5 soap operas, her favorite being General Hospital from the time she was in high school until the very end. One of her last nights she said "It was an amazing night! I can't believe General Hospital came to my party!" Wheel of Fortune was an all-time favorite. Mom had the knack of solving any puzzle with minimal to almost no letters. The first night home on hospice, the living room was full of family and mom solved the puzzle with 2 letters. Our momma passed at 4:20am, if you know you know! It only fits. She used to get up 2 hours early for work to chill, smoke, put on her face, and do her hair. She always showed up on time to work for any shift.
Etta would want to be remembered with love and a smile spreading kindness to the ones we love. We were always taught to take care of our family, the ones inside our home.
She was independent, strong, kind, and always a provider! Mom/Nana/Etta you will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure always and forever + eternity.
