Eugene "Gene" Scarl (83) passed peacefully at his Cape Cod home on December 27, 2022

with his loving partner Renee Ross by his side.

Gene was born on May 8, 1939 to Blanche and William Scarl in Easton, Pennsylvania. He

graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical

engineering. Gene's first job was with the Eclipse-Pioneer division of the Bendix

Corporation. He went on to work for Sperry, United Airlines and later worked as a realtor

and insurance broker.

In high school, Gene played the trumpet in marching band and was a congressional Page

for the United States House of Representatives. His hobbies included building wood strip

kayaks, making ornate stained-glass windows and crafting beautiful wooden gifts. He loved

playing pool, bowling, building wood strip kayaks, driving long distances, pastrami

sandwiches and sushi.

Gene is survived by his loving partner Renee Ross, his four daughters Hilari Scarl, Tasmyn

Scarl, Ariadne Swichtenberg (Jason) and Rachel Wuthrich (Chuck), his brother Donald

Scarl (Barbara Cohen), his niece Judith Scarl (David Williams) and his grandchildren Eli,

Owen, Sage, Jordan and Annika.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity of

Cape Cod, an organization that Gene volunteered for and supported.
