Crowley, Gerald Allen, 75, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, from a long illness on November 11, 2013.
Jerry was raised in Hough's Neck, before moving to Marshfield, eventually moving to Humarock, where he supported his parents, Beatrice (Bea) and John Crowley, with the family's restaurant, Humarock Lodge, from 1960 through the late 1970's. Jerry worked for MIB of Westwood, formerly R & S of Dorchester, for thirty years as a computer software programmer.
In his earlier years, Jerry enjoyed playing left field for Louie's Softball League of Hough's Neck and skating with his children on the ice ponds of Marshfield. Later, Jerry enjoyed sailing his boat the "Freudian Sloop" out of Humarock. He was an avid photographer, especially at his bi-annual golf tournaments in Plymouth, The Frostbite and Frostbyte, which he participated in with many family and friends for years. We remember Jerry for "3rd of July in Humarock," his bonfire and firework show, along with his homemade clam chowder. Throughout his life, he enjoyed reading and daily, he finished the crossword. His love of music, particularly Jazz, was ever present. His quick wit and humor will be missed.
Jerry leaves behind his three children from Judith Crowley of Marshfield; Suzanne Crowley of Oak Bluffs, Nancy Crowley of Seattle, WA and Steven Crowley of Marshfield. He also leaves behind his grandson, Charlie Crowley of Duxbury, as well as many close friends.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 1 Proprietors Dr, Marshfield, on Friday, November 15th at 4:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private, at Jerry's request.
