On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Gerlinde "Linda" Fischer, of Buzzards Bay, MA, age 81, passed away after a

brave battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Tubingen, Germany, Linda immigrated to the US in 1964 settling first in Boston and

then Stoughton, Massachusetts, where she and her husband, Rainer, raised their 3 children and became

very active in the early days of the Stoughton youth soccer program. After retiring from Stoughton

Public School Food Services, Linda and her husband permanently moved to their summer home on

Buttermilk Bay.

Known as "Oma" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved spending time with her family.

She enjoyed watching anything on the Food Network, trying new recipes and making traditional German

meals for her family. Her German potato salad was her signature dish and always a hit at family

gatherings, most notably on Christmas Eve.

Linda is survived by her husband, Rainer of 63 years, Her daughter Sylvia and her husband Bruce White

of Buzzards Bay, her son, Hardy and his wife Carolyn Fischer of Falmouth, her daughter, Patty and her

husband Al Peebles of Walpole. Her 5 grandchildren: Andy White of Somerset, Katie and Andrew

Duquette of Bellingham, Kristen and Shannon Adams of Natick, Erik and Erin Fischer of Methuen and

Allyson and Greg Davis of Raynham and her six great grandchildren: Camden, Emerson and Lennon

Duquette, Penelope and Rose Adams and Cora Fischer. She is also survived by her sister Christa of

Tubingen, Germany and many nieces and nephews in Germany.

Her services will be private at her request.
