Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Marie McEnroy (Thompson) announces her passing after a brief illness, on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Gloria, known to friends and family as "Gog" or "Gogo," was born on January 6, 1933 in Boston, MA to Robert Cecil and Margaret Esther Thompson. She graduated from Waltham High school in 1951 and worked as a bank teller for 10 years before deciding to become a homemaker for her former husband, Charles McEnroy, and three children, Kathleen McEnroy, Charles McEnroy Jr, and Frank McEnroy. Gloria thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and her home was often used as a meeting place for holiday get together and backyard barbecues. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate heart. Everyone who came in contact with her immediately fell in love with her easy going demeanor and selfless attitude. Her favorite pastimes included singing, scratching lottery tickets, watching reality tv, and traveling. Gloria is survived by her sister, Ruth Beswick, two sons, Charles McEnroy Jr and Frank McEnroy, three granddaughters, Jennifer Mourhess (McEnroy), Taylor Arslankara (Caroselli), and Marissa Campbell, and one great-grandchild, Jack Mourhess, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her three sisters, Elizabeth Heyworth, Phyllis Sweeney, and Margaret "Ann" Thompson, and daughter, Kathleen McEnroy. Family and friends are welcome to attend A Celebration of Gloria's life on Thursday, September 13, from 3pm-7pm at the home of Lisa Caroselli, 10 Lan Road, Sandwich, MA 02563.
