Obituary

Jacqueline Paulding Hauser of Marshfield, formerly of Pembroke and Sudbury, died peacefully on May 12, 2025.

She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her children, Peter Hauser of Brant Rock, Marc Hauser and Allie DeAngelis of Framingham, and Michelle Nickerson and her husband Larry of Weston.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, George W. Hauser. Her sisters, Eunice Ruffini and Myrtle Scagliarini. Jacqueline was reunited after many years with the late Frank T. Soracco, beloved partner with whom she shared 16 years of companionship.

She was an amazing grandmother to Kelsey Tuohy and her husband Sean, Kyle Nickerson and his wife Emma, Reese Nickerson, Brooke Hauser, Erika Hauser, Marc Hauser Jr., Anna Hauser, Dale Nickerson and George Hauser. She was also a great-grandmother to Hayes and Willis Tuohy, and Hauser "Hans" Nickerson.

Jacqueline is also survived by her niece, Margo Delaughter of The Villages, FL, and great nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was born in Brockton, MA on September 21,1930 and raised in Brant Rock by her late parents John Briggs and Hattie Inglis Paulding. She graduated from the Stoneleigh-Burnham School and Lasell Junior College (class of 1950) where she studied to be a medical secretary. She worked for physicians at Lahey Health, Boston Children's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was a longtime Avon representative and continued to be her best customer, she worked at Filene's for many years always enjoying her employee discount — fashion and style were always important to her.

Her true passion was for floral design and horticulture. She was a long time member and past president of the Sudbury Garden Club, representing the club as a designer in Art in Bloom at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on several occasions. She was a member of the Norwell Garden Club, the Southwest Horticulture and District Design Study Group, the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts Judges' Council and is now recognized as an Emeritus Master National Garden Club Flower Show Judge. She was instrumental in different flower shows and eagerly entered her designs. The Marshfield Fair and the Boston Flower Show were favorites of hers.

She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her grandchildren, her love of family and friends, her love of gardening, her love of reading, her love of the ocean and the beach and her love for lobster rolls.

A Celebration of Life for Jacqueline will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Hanover, MA on Thursday May 22, at 11:00am. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
