James "Jim" Henry Frick Jr., 73, died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday July 14, 2012. Jim was born June 1, 1939 to Edna and James Frick Sr. in New Brunswick, NJ. He grew up in many cities across the country with his parents and late sister Barbara Marshall. Jim graduated from Williams College where he excelled in Baseball, Basketball, and Golf. He retired from S.D. Warren Paper Company in 1995 after 35 dedicated years with the same company. Jim was an exceptional golfer who won numerous club championships and qualified for and competed in USGA events across the country. His golf career started in Connecticut followed by many years at Winged Foot Country Club in New York, where Claude Harmon took great personal interest in Jim's Golf. He spent his retirement playing golf at Old Sandwich Golf Club in Plymouth, MA with his close friends and family. He was also a long time member of Weston Country Club, Jupiter Hills Country club and Harbour Ridge Country club. Jim was married for 39 years to his devoted wife Jane Frick. They raised their 3 sons in Sudbury, MA and retired spending their summers in Plymouth, MA and winters in Palm City, FL. In addition to his wife, Jim leaves behind beloved sons Jamie, Alex and Tyler Frick. He was also a loving grandfather to Emma (5), Colin (2), Alexis (2), Kyleigh (6mos) and Travis (4mos). The family will be holding a memorial for friends and family on Sunday July 22, 2012 at Old Sandwich Golf Club in Plymouth, MA located at 41 Double Brook Road from 2 – 4PM. Attire will be country club casual. If one chooses, in lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in memory of James Frick be directed to the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund http://www.ouimet.org or MGH Cancer Center in support of lung cancer research.
