Celebration of Life
Janet M. (Murphy) Drew, 75, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born on January 4, 1951, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Janet was the cherished daughter of the late Patrick and Lillian (Thibault) Murphy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth Drew, Sr., as well as her sister Mary (Murphy) Ogilvie and her brother George Murphy.
Janet is survived by her devoted children: Kenneth Drew, Jr. and his wife Laura of Plymouth; Paula (Drew) Labbe and the late Matthew Wirt of Plymouth; and Cassandra “Casey” (Drew) Jesse and her husband Matthew of Plymouth. She was the proud and loving grandmother of ten: Kenny and Cam Drew of Plymouth, and Mandy Drew and fiancé Danny Munro of Plymouth; Ashley and Dustin Labbe; and Zachary and Nicholas Wirt—all of Plymouth: Tyler Labbe of Texas: Starr and Ryker Jesse of Plymouth. She also leaves behind two cherished great-grandchildren, Lila and Sutton Labbe of Texas. She is further survived by her siblings: Patrick Murphy and his wife Mary of Hanover; Daniel Murphy and his wife Cynthia of Pembroke, Virginia (Murphy) Wightman of Wareham; and Michael Murphy of Maine.
Janet was raised in Houghs Neck in Quincy, Massachusetts, alongside her six siblings, and graduated from North Quincy High School. She met the love of her life, Kenneth, at the age of 15, and their enduring bond became the foundation of a life centered on family and devotion. She later made her home in Plymouth, where she and her husband raised their three children on Esta Road. Janet found great joy in simple pleasures—spending time at Morton Park, hosting Sunday family dinners, and enjoying lively card nights with loved ones.
In later years, Janet spent time living in Venice, Florida, where she enjoyed boating, feeding dolphins, and welcoming visits from her family. She worked as a manager at Dollar General before returning to Plymouth due to declining health, where she remained surrounded by the love and care of her family.
Janet’s greatest joy was her role as “Nana.” She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth. She had a special gift for making each grandchild feel uniquely valued and deeply loved.
Janet will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit and warm presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Kenneth, Sr. May she rest in eternal peace.
