Jeanne F. Dickey, Jr. of Plymouth, MA, widow of R. Guy Danais, loving mother and grandmother died at home surrounded by her family on August 5th.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jeanne F. and William H. Dickey.
She attended Linden Hall in Lititz, PA and Bennett College in Millbrook, NY.
Jeanne genuinely loved her work as a Patient Coordinator at South Shore Skin Center in Plymouth, where she was well known by co-workers and patients as a tireless optimist and a friend to all. She formerly worked in the office of Robert Ulseth, MD in Duxbury.
She spent 20 wonderful years married to Guy. Not the first marriage for either, both felt they had finally found their true love in each other, and relished spending their time together traveling, eating great meals, and laughing often. They enjoyed the summer months especially, when they would visit with family and friends and have guests at their home by the beach.
Jeanne enjoyed joining friends for lunch dates, concerts, and special events. She especially loved listening to music, an interest that perhaps began with the church music of her youth in Pittsburgh; she was always drawn to hymns and choirs, and would often be heard singing around the house.
She loved being with her family most, and spent much of her time outside of work with her daughters and her grandson, James. Weekends were always a busy time for Jeanne: she regularly spent weekends with her grandson, enjoying the museum, the circus, a farm or a beach; she took pleasure in participating in all of the things that he loved to do.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Hegner of Brooklyn, NY and Tricia Walker and her son-in-law Scott Walker and grandson James Walker of Arlington, MA, her brother, William H. Dickey, Jr. of Charlottesville, VA, and her step-son Daniel Danais and his daughter Makayla McShane of Plymouth.
Visiting hours will be on Monday, August 11, 10:00 AM – 11:30 at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street Plymouth. A memorial service will follow at noon at Church of the Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square Plymouth. Interment will be private.
