Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Hogan of died peacefully on June 24, 2026. He was 85.

Born to Joseph C. and Anna Hogan on September 13, 1940, Joe grew up in the Dorchester and South Boston neighborhoods of Boston. He graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1957, where he studied to be a machinist.

On February 15, 1969, Joe married Anne Hutchinson of Dorchester. Together, they raised three children--Chris, Dan, and Marianne--in Plymouth. Joe was immensely proud of Anne and each of his children.

Joe's machinery expertise brought him to Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in 1971. For more than 40 years, he was a proud member of the plant's maintenance team and Local 369 of the Utility Workers Union of America. On May 9, 2019, Joe was inducted into the Pilgrim Station Hall of Fame, a recognition of his long and valued service.

Joe loved his work at the plant, the beach, the oldest movies he could find (especially Westerns), strong handshakes, repeating goofy jokes, and his role as Uncle Joe to his ten nieces and nephews and their families.

Joe is survived by his wife Anne; his sister Catherine; his three children Chris (Jill Isley), Dan, and Marianne; his beloved extended family; and many wonderful friends.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to take place in the fall. Details will be shared once the date and location are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express their sympathy are invited to consider a memorial contribution in Joe's memory to Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth.
