Julia M. Horman of Mashpee passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 as she drifted off to sleep at the wonderful age of 102. Julia was fortunate not to suffer any ailments; it was just her time to be reunited with those that she has lost.
Julia was a devoted mother to her late son, Charles (Chick) H. Horman Jr. and caring grandmother and great grandmother.
Julia was the daughter of Robert E. Jacobs and Julia (Shortsleeves) Jacobs and the sister to the late John Jacobs, the late Robert Jacobs, and the late Evelyn Frederickson.
Julia's son, Charles, and his late wife, Pauline, gave her five loving grandchildren; Charles Horman and wife Andrea of Sandwich; Robert Horman and wife Heidi of Sanbornton, NH; David Horman of Fayette, Maine; Paula Cote of Sagamore Beach; and Melissa Keyes and husband Thomas of Sandwich. Julia is also survived by her six great granddaughters and one great grandson.
For many years, Julia managed a shoe factory in Malden, MA and retired to Mashpee, right on Johns Pond. Julia was a passionate gardener and enjoyed creating crafts from natural materials. She especially loved making grapevine Christmas trees, which she cut down herself, and giving them to her loved ones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road in East Sandwich. Burial follows in the Sandwich Town Cemetery on Route 130.
