It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen McGuire Whitman, age 73. She passed away after a brief illness on June 14, 2026, in Volcano, Hawaii.

Karen was born March 3, 1953, in Roxbury, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Julia McGuire of Plymouth, MA.

Karen graduated from Mission High in Roxbury, MA, in the class of 1970. She went on to get her hairdresser license while living in California. Later she became a draftsman for Shell Oil Company for many years while living in New Orleans.

She was the 8th child of 13 and very proud to be. Her door was always open to family and friends. She loved reading, gardening, and cooking. Her sense of humor, warmth, and generous spirit will forever be remembered.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles; her son, Troy; and her granddaughter, Starlet, all of Hawaii. Also many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held on September 26, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Manomet cemetery, followed by lunch at the John Alden Club in Manomet
