IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karla Ann
Banner
December 9, 1952 – November 26, 2022
Karla Ann Banner, age 69, of Falmouth MA, beloved daughter of the late Stella and Lt Col John
L. Banner Jr., loving sister of John, Linda (Mark), Donna, Brenda (David) and Steve (Brenda),
and Auntie to Rebecca and Patrick Banner, Victoria, David and Lydia Evans and Callan Banner,
passed away on November 26 after living with lung cancer.
Born in Washington DC, Karla was raised in a military family, moving seven times before her
family settled in Falmouth. Karla graduated from Lawrence High School in 1970 and went to
Cambridge Junior College. After college, she worked for Eastern Airlines as a Flight Attendant,
and travelled the world. She lived in NYC, Florida and Boston but later settled back in Falmouth.
Karla struggled with health issues, but was able to overcome her challenges and lead a productive
and happy life. Her perseverance, strength, and joie de vivre in the face of such challenges with
the tough hand she was dealt continues to inspire those around her.
Throughout her life, Karla had a great love of nature and an artistic sensibility, often painting and
working with crafts. She was a kind and compassionate person with a gentle soul, always willing
to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or share a joke. She will be greatly missed
by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank McCarthy Care Center, Sandwich, for their kind care in Karla's last
days; also, the First Congregational Church of Falmouth for hosting our Remembrance for Karla.
Donations in Karla's memory can be made to PETA and/or the Falmouth Service Center.
