Obituary

Morey, Kathleen M. (Kathy), 59, of Plymouth, died on February 6th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital of Plymouth after a short illness. Kathy was born on March 6, 1954 in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Jack and Donna (Balboni) Morey, both of Plymouth. Kathy graduated from Plymouth Carver class of 1972. She went to college at Bridgewater State and received a Masters Degree in education from Cambridge College. She lost her sight at age 28, but continued to teach 4th grade at Indian Brook Elementary School in Manomet for 33 years. She loved her students and touched many lives. Kathy sang in the former St. Peter's Choir for 30 years. She was a member of Persephone's Daughters singing group and she was a member of MTA. Although blind, she crocheted afghans and was well remembered for her baby sweaters. She also enjoyed her talking books and being with people. She is survived by a sister, Linda A Morey and her significant other, George E. Griffis, a brother, David J. Morey and his wife, Lynne, as well as her nephew, Andrew D. Morey, niece, Amanda L. Morey and her aunt, Claire Vaz. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 9:00 – 10:30 am. A funeral mass will be at St. Peter's Church at 11:00. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
