Wardwell, Kathleen Grace Fitzgerald, passed away May 31, 2014, following a lengthy illness.
We called her "Nant," a moniker lovingly bestowed on her by her godson, Gene. She in turn called herself "The Nant" because, of course there was only one; a combination of Nana and Aunt to her 10 nephews.
But she was also a loving mother, caring sister and a devoted friend to many. Her sense of humor earned her quick friends wherever she went, and the stories she loved to share gathered us in and filled us with wonder.
Kathleen was born May 12, 1948 to Grace and James Fitzgerald of Brockton. She was educated in the Brockton schools and graduated from Thayer Academy in 1966. She was an active real estate broker for over 40 years in the Bridgewater/Plymouth area. She dearly loved the fields and mountains of New Hampshire and was an honorary Trustee of the Little Blue School.
"It is the laughter we will remember, whenever we remember…"
Kathleen is survived by her siblings, Janet M Boesch of St. Louis, MO, Donald L Fitzgerald of Brockton, MA and Nancy A Fitzgerald of St. Louis, MO. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 10 nephews. She also leaves behind her long-time friend, Anna Colby, of Carver, MA. Kathleen was preceded in death by her son, Merill Willie Wardwell and her brother Scott Fitzgerald. In addition, she leaves behind her son James and his wife, Tara of Hanover, MA.
