Kathleen Marie Winkler (King) passed on peacefully in her home on October 27,2026. 

Kathy formerly resided in Willimantic, CT until her retirement from Windham Public Schools, when she relocated to Cape Cod, MA the place she was most content. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Warren Winkler, who was her devoted care giver as her disease progressed. 

Additionally, Kathy is survived by her daughter, Erin Winkler (Michael); grandchildren, Austin (Tess) and McKenna (Damien) Dickerman her beloved dog, King and her mother-in-law, Elaine Winkler. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ann King. Kathy had many close friends, as well as nieces and nephews. 

Kathy was an avid traveler, enjoying many vacations throughout the year. Kathy enjoyed cruising to many islands and trips to Martha's Vineyard. She also enjoyed taking walks, spending time with friends, and frequenting craft fairs and farmer's markets. Kathy loved living on Cape Cod. 

Kathy was always actively engaged in doing whatever she could to prevent being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, living her life in a way that should have not made her a target. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Kathy's memory to VNA hospice of Cape Cod and the islands, who were instrumental in Kathy's care in her final months. 

The family will hold funeral services in remembrance of Kathy in the upcoming months, and will provide further details as arrangements are finalized.
