Kenneth Walter Burg, resident of the Life Care Center of South Shore in Scituate, MA, died on Aug. 31, 2014 of cardiac arrest. He was 80 years old. Born in Boston in 1934 to Carl and Marion Burg, he was the third of four sons. At age 12 he met Judith Stennes who became the love of his life and with whom he spent his entire life until her passing in June of 2013. Ken joined the Navy in 1952 and married Judy two years later. He was discharged in 1956 just before the birth of their first son, Kenneth Jr. Their second son Douglas was born just before they bought their first home in Rockland in 1958. David, their third and final son, was born in 1960, just a year prior to building and moving into their home in Hanson. Always the entrepreneur, Ken started his first painting company over fifty years ago, taking on residential, commercial and government contracts. Seeing the do-it-yourself trend early, he opened two home decorating stores in the 70s. Over the years he transitioned the business into a successful building and remodeling company. He loved the ocean, boating, music and movies. He and Judy also lived in Weymouth, Scituate and Halifax. Ken is survived by his three sons Kenneth Burg Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Hingham, Douglas Burg of Rockland and David Burg and his wife Christine of Weymouth; grandson Ryan Burg and his wife Kristin of Walpole and their daughters Kaylee and Brittany, and grandson Matthew Burg of Weymouth. Ken is also survived by his younger brother Richard Burg of Revere, several nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Memorial service to be announced.
