Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kevin Ronald McDonald,56, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, who departed unexpectedly from this world on December 18, 2023.

Kevin was born on Thursday April 27, 1967 in South Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from South Boston High School in 1985. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the Army. Kevin proudly served as a US Army Tanker from 1985 to 1989. His dedication led him to Germany, where he was part of the 8th Infantry Division from 1986 to 1987. In 1988, he joined the OPFOR National Training Center, and his proudest achievement was being a member of the 60th Guards Motorized Rifle Division at Fort Irwin in Southern California.

In 1988, Kevin met the love of his life, Cherie, and they celebrated 35 years of marriage in October 2023. Throughout their journey, Kevin worked tirelessly for 30 years as a Safe Vault Technician, demonstrating his commitment to providing for his family. He was known for going above and beyond for his loved ones, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, family, and even strangers.

Kevin embraced life with zest, spending precious moments cheering on his son, Kenneth, at hockey games. He found joy in working on his lawn and tinkering with cars. Kevin cherished family vacations on sandy beaches and the summers spent by the pool in Plymouth, creating lasting memories with family, friends, and his beloved dog, Rebel. His love was deep, his loyalty unwavering, and his honesty steadfast.

Kevin leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his wife, Cherie (Kephart) McDonald, with whom he shared 35 years of love and companionship. He was a devoted father to Kenneth McDonald of Plymouth, MA, and is also survived by his niece, Chellsy, his brother-in-law, Kenneth, of Searchlight, NV, his cherished dog, Rebel, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Let us gather to remember and honor a man whose kindness, hard work, and love touched the lives of many. May the wind always be at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields; and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
