Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leo Ernest Lagace, a loving husband, devoted, father, a fabulous grandpa, and great grandpa. Leo passed away, peacefully, surrounded by family in the comforts of his own home, on January 3, 2025, at the age of 83.

Leo was born in Taunton, MA, on February 3, 1941. He was proud of his service in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1960-1963. Leo spent the first part of his career working in the supermarket and pharmacy retail industry, but eventually retired from the US Postal Service in 2003. He was known for his easy-going demeanor, his kindness, his love of food and his sense of humor.

Leo is survived by his beloved wife Carol Sheehy Lagace, of 61 years, and his children; Deborah Hobill, and her husband, Timothy, and Susan Lagace Turner. He was predeceased by his son John Lagace. Leo was also blessed with eight grandchildren; Greg Hobill and wife, Katelyn, Kayla Pollard and husband, Chris, Alex Turner, Audrey Turner and husband, Frank, Devon Turner and wife Allie, Jack Turner, Ava Turner, and Amelia Turner. He was also fortunate to have welcomed 11 great grandchildren; Logan, Lillian, Lukas, Lincoln, Leah, Cyril, Owen, Emmett, Levi, Wren, and Ross. Leo was the son of and predeceased by Margaret (Yelle) Williams and Leo E Lagace. He was predeceased by his sister, Frances Hyde, and is survived by his brothers. Gerald Lagace and Richard Williams. Leo is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all.

Leo enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was birdwatching, golfing, kayaking, fishing, clamming, or just basking in the sun. He was the only man that was tan all year. Leo and Carol also enjoyed travel together to places such as Bermuda, Hawaii, Italy and Mexico, just to name a few. He was a good man with unwavering support and love for his family.

A celebration of his life will take place on January 26, 2025, from 1-3 pm at the Bartlett funeral home in Plymouth. A service will be held at 3:00 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Loring Blvd., Plymouth MA, 02360 or a charity of one's choice.
