Obituary

Linda D. Lafferty, age 74, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2022. Linda was born on May 31, 1947, in Rochester, New York, exactly two years after her sister Sandra (Fallsen) Bowen was born. She had an idyllic childhood and was adored by both parents Phyllis (Frost) & Walter Fallesen as well as her sister. She was also the devoted wife of James Baker for 32 years, followed by John Lafferty for 2 years. Her legacy will live on through her loving daughters Jamie Lynn Bierut and Jessica Lynn (Andrew) Fry and five beautiful grandchildren: Alexa Brooklin Bierut, Joshua David Bierut, Caleb Thomas Bierut, Braden Michael Fry, and Austin James (AJ) Fry.

Linda was responsible for constant administrative support for her family's many businesses, including the creation of the Findlay Racquet Club and Jim Baker Real Estate. Later, she pursued a career as a Sign Language Interpreter for Findlay City Schools and then The University of Findlay. Always putting others first, she was a fierce advocate for the rights of paraprofessionals within the school district.

Linda's faith, family and friends were always her priority. She will always be remembered for her constant efforts to lighten the burden of others and make the world a gentler, softer place.

Linda never stopped helping others. For many years she volunteered in the schools, and within the community. She was a caregiver at Blanchard Valley Hospital and was involved with various aspects of ministry at The First Presbyterian Church and Evangelical Free Church.

Linda found comfort by the water and passed that love on to both her daughters. She was passionate about music and a loyal friend. Linda was a precious gift and will be remembered for her infectious smile and kindness. Linda was a connector and she centered her life around nurturing others. Linda is often described as "one of the sweetest people they've had the privilege of knowing." Linda will always remain a bright light to her Bridge Club Family. Despite a valiant fight with Alzheimer's Disease, Linda was always a loving and proud mother of her beloved daughters until her very last breath.

A Celebration of Life that was scheduled for this coming Friday has been cancelled due to a family illness but will be held at a later date. An additional Celebration of Life and burial will be held in her beloved hometown of Findlay, Ohio during Spring 2022.

Donations in Linda's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association at htpps://act.alz.org/donate or 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
