With profound sadness we acknowledge the passing of Louise Richardson Mahanna. In her seventy-eight years among us she was the loving and truly most dedicated wife of George J. Mahanna Jr. until his death in 2018, the cherished mother of their two sons, George J. Mahanna III of Carver and Christopher R. Mahanna and his wife Christine, of Norwalk, Connecticut and beloved grandmother to Christopher and Riley Mahanna. Louise was the third child of the late Francis and Genevieve Richardson and dear sister to Edward Richardson (Kathryn Harding) of Westwood, the late Joan Thomas (Norman), Mary Maher (Kevin) of Dedham, Elaine Leahy (Peter) of Marion and Francis Richardson of Middleboro.

Louise was employed as a manager at Chadwick's of Boston for many years and was respected and admired by her coworkers. She was known and revered by family and friends for her many culinary and artistic abilities. Most of her nieces and nephews were the lucky recipients of her beautiful hand knitted sweaters, blankets, and ornaments all created by her with love and care.

We will surely miss this independent and caring woman we love so dearly, whose wisdom, clarity and counsel we could rely upon at any time. In keeping with Louise's fervent wishes, there will be no services.
