IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn
Eldredge
June 11, 1935 – April 26, 2025
Marilyn Eldredge passed away on April 26. Marilyn was born in Montclair New Jersey to Harold Schmidt and Marguerite VanRiper.
After her mothers passing at an early age, Marilyn, her father and brother John moved Lew Beach New York. They lived at Wayside Farm on the beautiful Beaverkill river. It was this area that she met her first husband, John Raggio. She raised 6 boys-Keith, Kurt, Kent, Erik, Bruce and then David. Living in the Catskills, she took advantage of teaching them to ski on the nearby montains. This passion of the sport carried on throughout their lives even today with her grandson Rhys. She worked diligently to provide for her sons, and made sure they were well educated including Deerfield Academy, Cardigan Mountain and Vt. Acadamy. Her career days were as an English teacher and Real estate agent in Hanover New Hampshire and Cape Cod.
Her love for the ocean then brought her to Cape Cod. This is where she met her partner and second husband Luther Marston Eldredge who passed away in December of 2023. They were married for 34 years and settled in Eastham.
Marilyn loved the ocean, swimming in the salt water, going out to Billingsgate island with Luther to get quahogs, clams, and lobster. Her other passions were skiing, love for her dogs, gardening, cooking and enjoying the winters in Marco Island and Boca Grande.
Her son Kurt and daughter-in-law Michelle were her caregivers for the past several years until her death. She is survived by her son Kurt Raggio (Michelle Munsey) of Orleans, son Keith Raggio( Debbie) of Sterling VA, son David Schmidt (Jennifer) of Denver CO., son Kent Schmidt (Colleen) of Marco Island, son Bruce Schmidt of Marco Island, 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
