IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Bouchard
June 8, 1931 – September 18, 2021
Mary Bouchard, caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died at home on September 18, 2021. She was 90 years old.
The first-born daughter of Leonard and Ellen Milano, Mary grew up largely in the Midwest before her family moved east to Westchester County, New York. She is a graduate of the Grier School and Bradford Junior College, where she pursued her lifelong love of literature as an English major and her passion for drama in the many roles she played on stage.
Married in 1954 to George F. Church Jr., the newlyweds moved to Cuba for naval service and then on to Canada before returning to the states and settling in Fairfield County, Connecticut. During their marriage, they became the parents of two girls: Julie and Carole.
After relocating to the Boston area, Mary enjoyed many productive years as an executive assistant in the Biotech industry. Following her retirement, she ventured to Florida for several years before returning to Massachusetts for the cooler seasons and family. Always a voracious reader, Mary was active in several book clubs, as well as volunteer groups. Attending concerts and theater remained a lifelong passion, as well as watching golf on Sunday afternoons.
Mary is survived by her sister Jeanne Milano and nephew David Boehm, who reside in North Carolina; her daughter Julie Church, of Glastonbury, CT; daughter Carole and son-in-law Paul Freehauf, of Cummaquid, MA, and her grandson Dylan Freehauf.
