Smith, Mary, of Carver, died peacefully at the age of 69. Mary leaves behind her loving husband, Jim, of 46 years. She was the devoted mother of her daughter Marie and her son Jimmy and his wife Tracey. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jimmy and Sean and her little dog Tara.
She was the daughter of the late Martin and Maggie Ann Dooney. Mary was born and raised in Glanmore, Derrinacartha, Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon, Ireland, before coming to America at age 18. One of her proudest moments was receiving he citizenship. Mary was a receptionist for the better part of her professional career. Her sweet Irish brogue and unparalleled work ethic will always be remembered by those she worked with. Mary enjoyed all kinds of crafts, including crocheting, knitting and stenciling. She also loved to go dancing; she loved baking, gardening and was forever cleaning. If there was any dust in heaven, it's gone now… She will remain in the hearts and minds of all that knew her and her warm and caring ways that made Mary truly one of a kind. Mary will be deeply mourned by her sisters, Bridget Grealish of Woburn, Kathleen Walsh of Woburn and Margaret Henry of Ireland as well as her brothers, Martin and Eddie of Ireland and John of London. She was predeceased by her brothers, Seamus and Patrick. Mary leaves behind many relatives, friends and neighbors.
A funeral mass will be held in Mary's honor at Blessed Kateri, 126 South Meadow Road, Plymouth on Saturday, February 2, at 10:00. Interment will be private.
