Obituary

June 4, 1939 – November 19, 2024

Maureen McNally Turner, 85, passed away in Plymouth, MA. She was a resident of Plymouth for many years as well as Kingston, MA, Virginia and Florida.

Maureen is survived by her stepchildren, Debra (Keith) Whitaker of Plymouth, MA, Paul (Donna) Turner of Seneca, SC and Lori Wallace of Sandwich, MA. She leaves eight grandchildren, Peter Fahey of Plymouth, MA, Carolyn Fahey of Kingston, MA, Kelsey Whitaker-Colvin of Roslindale, MA, Brad Wallace of New York, NY, Andrew Wallace of Sandwich, MA, Rose Wallace of Quincy, MA, Paul Turner of Littleton, NH and Thomas Turner of Seneca, SC. Maureen is also survived by three of her siblings, Louise Glick, Kingston, MA, Ann Lirosi, Duxbury, MA and Robert McNally, Orlando, FL.

Maureen was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Paul (Red) Turner as well as 6 of her siblings. She was born in North Quincy to John and Rose (Mooney) McNally. Maureen worked many years for the phone company as well as a marketing firm in Boston. Upon her marriage she became a wonderful Stepmom, homemaker and grandmother fondly known as Nana and Nana Moe by most people that knew her. She loved to entertain and had a flair for decorating especially for the holidays. We will always remember the summer fun at their lake house in Plymouth as well as visits to their Florida home. Maureen was an avid reader (history and spy novels being her favorite genres). Travelling with her husband and family, camping etc., it was the historic sites she enjoyed most of all.

Maureen also enjoyed doing puzzles, watching World War II movies and snuggling with our dogs. She will truly be remembered for her contagious laughter and willingness to participate in any shenanigans going on.

Her youngest grandson Tommy wrote, "I know she thoroughly enjoyed reading and PBS. She wasn't one to have liked being absent of mind. In that aspect, it is a blessing..I'm positive she is much happier now. She was always good to me.

Maureen was a good and kind person who was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral arrangements will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Thursday, March 20th at 10:15 am.
