Obituary

Michael Dennis Almeida "Mikie" "Wolfie"

October 12, 1956 – October 6, 2025

Michael Almeida passed away unexpectedly at Tampa General Hospital on October 6th at the age of 68. He was born on October 12th, 1956, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, to the late George and Enis (Breveglieri) Almeida. Michael attended Plymouth schools and had resided in Spring Hill, Florida, for over 35 years, where he built a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce (Muldoon) Almeida. He is survived by his children: Michael J. Almeida and his wife Michelle of Plymouth, Courtney Almeida, and Joshua Almeida and his wife Ashley of Spring Hill, FL. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Jo Ann (Almeida) Correa, and her husband Phillip Jr. of Plymouth, as well as his grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend - the most selfless man you could ever meet. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and never expected anything in return. His kindness, generosity, and strength were unmatched, and his love for his family and friends knew no limits.

He was the proud and loving Papa to Legend and Legacy Almeida, Joseph and Ashlynn Jarrette and Michael and Anthony Almeida. His bond with his grandchildren - especially Legend - was unbreakable. Just this past Saturday, he proudly watched Legend's soccer game where Legend scored all eight goals, lighting up the field just as his Papa beamed from the sidelines. Papa never missed one game. They were truly best friends, sharing a connection filled with laughter, love, and endless memories.

Michael worked hard every day to provide for his family and make sure they always had what they needed. Whether he was lending a helping hand, offering advice, or sharing a good laugh, his heart was always open. He was known as the "yes man" - never turning down anyone who needed help, whether it was family, friends, or even his children's friends who saw him as a father figure.

He lived a good life surrounded by love, laughter, and community - sometimes getting into a little mischief along the way, but always with that unforgettable smile and a story to tell. He enjoyed the simple things: watching his western shows, cheering on his favorite teams - the Patriots and Buccaneers - and being present for every moment that mattered to the people he loved most.

Michael's heart was gold, his love unconditional, and his presence irreplaceable. He left us without warning, and the emptiness he leaves behind is something words can hardly describe. Life will never be the same without him, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing he did not go alone - a part of us went with him.

Michael's legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will continue to guide and inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Until we meet again, he will live on through the laughter of his grandchildren, the love of his family, and the countless lives he touched.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th from 10 am- 12 pm. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's cemetery in Plymouth.
