Obituary

Muriel F. (Otto) Creati of Plymouth died February 27, 2014 peacefully at home. Born in Mineola, Long Island, NY on September 17, 1912, she moved to Halifax as a young child, graduating from Bridgewater High School in 1930. Following World War II, with the late Lt. Col. Joseph A. Creati, Sr., she lived in Manila, P.I., and in Osaka, Japan. At the outbreak of the Korean War, Mrs. Creati worked in the Osaka Army Hospital as a Ward Secretary for several months. Following 5 years in San Antonio TX, they returned to Plymouth in 1956. An office worker, Mrs. Creati worked at Ocean Spray in Hanson, A.K. Finney Trucking Co., and later at Newfield House as Office Manager before retiring in 1986. Coming out of retirement she served as Parish Secretary at St. Mary's Rectory for many years. She was a member of the Plymouth Golden Age Club, serving as Bookkeeper for a few years, and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. An avid Red Sox Fan, she also enjoyed Reading and Knitting. She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Creati, Jr. of Michigan, and James E. Creati and his wife Monique of Plymouth. A third son, John L. (Jackie) Creati died in 1953. Visiting Hours are from 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday March 4, 2014 at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court St., Plymouth, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetary. Donations in her memory may be made to American Kidney Fund or a Charity of your Choice.
