Obituary

Sousa, Muriel, 93, of Plymouth, formerly of Yarmouthport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3rd. She was born in Stoneham, the daughter of the late Mary (Conlon) and John Fraser.

Muriel grew up in Charlestown; one of 8 children. At age 20, she married her husband, John and they finally settled down in Wakefield, starting their family and their life together. She worked at Transitron in Wakefield for many years as an electronic technician. Eventually she and John retired in Yarmouth Port, MA where they spent their last years together.

Muriel enjoyed many things. She loved candlepin bowling. She bowled in a league until she was 88 years old. She loved baking and she was well known for her whoopee pies. She loved her family more than anything, she loved her grandkids and enjoyed attending all of their games. She loved working in her yard and decorating her home. She went back to work at the Salvation Army part time and enjoyed meeting new people. She was a very kind, loving and thoughtful woman, always thinking of everyone else. She will fondly be remembered as everyone's "Nonny".

Muriel leaves behind her daughters; Marie Sternberg and her husband Eric of Plymouth and Deborah Sousa VanVeen and her husband Peter of Naples, FL. She also is the loving Nonny to Adam Sternberg of Seattle and Carly McGonigle and Jack of Marstons Mills. She leaves behind two great grandchildren as well; Caroline and Will. She leaves behind nieces and nephews as well. She is also survived by her sister Joan Davis of Prescott, AZ. She is preceded in death by her siblings; William Fraser, Thomas Fraser, Joseph Fraser, James Fraser, Harriet O'Connell and Constance Fraser.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church on Tuesday, November 9th at 11:00 am. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Muriel's memory to St. Jude's at www.stjude.org/donate
