In Loving Memory of Loretta “Nancy” Berry

Loretta “Nancy” Berry, 88, passed away on September 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, caring, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Anna Dors. She was one of five siblings and was predeceased by her brother Henry Dors and his wife, Eleanor; her sister Charlotte Hurley and her husband, John; and her sister Virginia Clark and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her brother Peter Dors and his wife, Deborah.

Nancy was the devoted wife of William Berry, and together they built a loving family. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on October 7, 2026. Their life together was centered around family, love, and devotion to one another. Nancy raised her family in Canton, where she devoted herself to being a loving and supportive mother. Her children, Anne Smith and her husband, Jay; Carolyn McCabe; William Berry and his wife, Yulia; and Sandra Wojciechowski and her husband, Eric, were among the greatest joys of her life.

Nancy was a cherished grandmother to Caroline Venditti; Sarah Venditti and her husband, Stephen Riesgraf; Lizzie Venditti; Timothy McCabe; Victoria Berry; and Paulina Berry. She took great pride in her grandchildren and treasured the special relationship she shared with each of them.

Nancy was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, with a particularly special bond with her beloved nieces, Beth and Susan Hurley, and her grandnephews, Matthew and Jake Hurley. Family was always at the heart of Nancy’s life.

Nancy had a long and meaningful career in nursing. She worked as an operating room nurse at Brockton Hospital before becoming the school nurse at Dawe Elementary School in Stoughton, where she cared for generations of children until her retirement. Caring for others was not simply her profession—it was an essential part of who Nancy was.

In the later years of her life, Nancy devoted herself to caring for her beloved husband, William. She was a dedicated and loving caregiver, giving him her time, strength, and unwavering devotion. Her commitment to him was a beautiful reflection of the love and loyalty she carried throughout her life.

Nancy eventually retired to Cape Cod, where she enjoyed the next chapter of her life. Outside of her family and career, she loved to sew and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed her book clubs, socializing with her friends and neighbors, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by people she cared about.

Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, compassion, and devotion to the people she loved. She had a caring heart and a generous spirit, and she gave so much of herself to her family, her friends, her patients, and the children in her care.

Her family will miss her deeply, but they will carry her love with them always—in the memories they share, in the traditions she helped create, and in the many lives she touched throughout her own.

Nancy was deeply loved. Her caring spirit will live on in her family and in all those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be forever missed and forever remembered.

Services

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity that held a special place in her heart.
