Patrick T Ryan Sr. of Plymouth, MA, died peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84.

Patrick was born in Dorchester, MA on August 16, 1942. He is the son of the late Thomas F. and Veronica J. (Szymanski) Ryan, Patrick is the beloved husband of 25 years of Joanne F. (Bradley) Ryan. Patrick is the loving father of Patrick T. Ryan Jr. and Jill L. Ryan Knupp of Hingham and Michael F. Ryan and his wife Denise and their 4 children Harrison, Anderson, Allison & Emerson all of Marlboro.

Patrick was the dear brother of Charlie Ryan and his wife Kathy of Holbrook, Joe Ryan and his wife Pam of Weymouth. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Thomas, Michael, Francis and Paul. He is the brother-in-law of Arthur and Mary Bradley, Dorothy and Richie Kehoe and Beth Ann Bradley. The late Michael Bradley, Peter Bradley and Mary Ellen Blake. He is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Patrick served in the United States Navy, attended the Naval Academy and was assigned to the Cuban conflict where he earned National Defense, Expeditionary and Marksmanship medals. He went on to serve for Four years earning a Naval Reserve and Sea Service medal and Commemorative Vietnam and Cold War victory medals.

Patrick had a natural way of quickly becoming the most popular guy in the room. He would always tell the funniest stories and jokes to make others feel at ease. He was helpful, handy and always willing to help out wherever and whenever he could.

Patrick enjoyed a 50 plus years career with the Millwrights Local Union 1121. He was a foreman on jobs for Boston Edison, Plymouth Power Plant, Sandwich Canal Generator and New York trash to energy incinerator. In his down time, he moved furniture, drove a cab, was a security guard, a boiler maker, an iron worker and passed the construction supervisor's exam.

Outside of work, Patrick had his pilot's license and loved flying single and dual engine aircraft. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his brothers and friends. He loved Sci-Fi movies, reading suspense novels and finding good deals on the internet. He loved Boston sports and cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots.

Patrick and Joanne were snowbirds spending many winters in their home in Bradenton, Fl. Patrick loved his weekly golf outings with his buddies. They enjoyed going to the beach and finding live music to dance to while socializing with their many friends.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth MA on September 18, 2026, at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Summer Street, Plymouth.
