Paul Matthew D'Angelo, a Civil Engineer for the U.S Coast Guard in Juneau, Alaska, passed away unexpectedly on July 20th, 2013. His position involved designing and supervising construction projects for the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. Paul served in a similar capacity at the U. S Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod for two years as a Design Engineer. He earned his bachelors degree in landscape architecture and design at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1992. Paul attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1999 and earned many construction supervisor certifications from the Army Corps of Engineers. While a Coast Guard Reservist, Paul founded New Land Design, a company that completed various construction projects in and around Boston, Maine, Connecticut, Florida, Nantucket and Bermuda. Paul D was the son of Paul J. D'Angelo and the late Margot D'Angelo. He is survived by his father, his step mother, Elaine Baker D'Angelo, his sister Anne D, brother Mike D and younger sister Ilana. Paul attended Plymouth-Carver High School having graduated in 1988. He served with the U. S. Coast Guard in the 1991 Gulf War. Early in his career, he was a violinist with the Quincy Symphony. Paul brought many friends together through his interests in green Real Estate development, motorcycling, running, dancing, laughing, living life to the fullest with international travel, gourmet cooking, snowboarding, architectural history, feng shui, reading novels, poetry, weight training, action movies and more. Paul will be sadly missed by his family, many friends and professional colleagues. Funeral Arrangements will be made by the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA, 02360. Visitation will be on Monday, July 29 from 4- 7 pm. On Tuesday, July 30: We will depart the Bartlett Funeral Home at 10am sharp and proceed to the Massachusetts Military Reservation. We will be going in procession. Services will be held in the Chapel at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod at 11:30 am followed by a visit to the Coast Guard Memorial Air Park that Paul designed. The Command wants to say a few words there about Paul's contribution to the Coast Guard. Burial is at 1:30 pm at the National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: U.
