Reece Liam Nhlanhla Scott, a cherished son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend, passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 27. He was born in South Africa on January 13, 1998. He lived in several countries and states with his family while growing up and continued to explore and experience life by joining the US Army after graduating from High school in Montgomery Texas. He served for four years active duty and four years reserve. He was deployed twice, Korea and Afghanistan. He spent some time starting college in New York and loved exploring and relaying all his new finds around the city. Though his time with us was far too short, the love and joy he brought into the world will be forever remembered by those who knew him.

Reece was the beloved son of Velda and Gary Scott. He was a constant source of laughter and support for his brothers, Dain and Fynn, and his sisters, Siân and Skye (deceased).

Reece will be remembered for his willingness to always try new adventures, infectious smile, kind heart, ad hoc dancing and rapping, snappy fashion sense, amusing and sharing time with his siblings. He had a deep passion for chess, books, fencing, cooking and music. His time serving in the US military was one of the hardest and most inspiring for him. He had many stories to share and made some steadfast friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed by his parents, his siblings, close extended family in South Africa and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A burial service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery (Bourne MA) at 10:45am on September 10, 2025.
